Lights, Camera-AI! CharlestonHacks presents the 30 Second AI Film Fest.

The 30 Second AI Film Fest is a 3-hour AI-generated video hackathon where participants will create innovative, AI-powered 30-second short films. Hosted by CharlestonHacks as part of Dig South and Charleston Tech Week, this event encourages creativity, experimentation, and storytelling through AI-generated content.

30-Second Impact – Our Theme

A great film isn’t just action, it’s a feeling. In just 30 seconds, craft a cinematic moment that captivates, moves, or surprises us and makes us feel something unforgettable. Whether it’s awe, joy, or suspense, every frame must count. Use AI tools to push creative boundaries and craft a cinematic moment.

Date & Time: May 1st, 6-9 PM
Location: Simmons Center, College of Charleston, Room 180

Rules, Terms and Event Overview

Team Formation: Participants competed solo and in teams of up to 5 people.

AI Usage & Tools: Films were be created entirely within the 3-hour event window. Teams used at least one AI-powered tool like OpenArt, our featured AI film sponsor.

Film Requirements: Each film was 30 seconds long and content must be PG-level and told a cohesive story or conveyed a clear concept.

Submission & Presentation:Films were presented live to the audience and judges.

It was an unforgettable night of creativity, tech, and innovation!
